Every Overwatch plan includes limits on the number of monitors, alert channels, and team members your organization can have. You can check your current usage at any time and take action before you hit a limit and disrupt your monitoring.

Where to find your usage

Go to Settings → Plan and scroll to the Usage section. You’ll see a progress bar for each resource:
  • Monitors — active monitors against your plan’s monitor limit
  • Alert channels — configured alert channels against your plan’s limit
  • Team members — current members (including the owner) against your plan’s member limit
Each bar shows the count as used / limit. When you’re at or over the limit, the bar turns red.
Check your usage before adding new monitors or inviting team members, especially on the Starter plan where limits are low.

What happens when you reach a limit

When you’ve used all your available monitors, attempting to create a new one returns an error. The dashboard shows a prompt to upgrade your plan. You cannot add more monitors until you either delete an existing one or upgrade to a plan with a higher limit.
If you downgrade to a lower plan and your existing usage exceeds the new plan’s limits, your over-limit monitors are paused automatically at the end of your billing period. Alert channels and team members are not automatically removed, but you won’t be able to add new ones until you’re back within limits.

Freeing up resources

If you’re at a limit and don’t want to upgrade, you can make room by removing resources you no longer need: Delete unused monitors: Go to your monitors list, find monitors that are no longer relevant, and delete them. Deleted monitors and their check history are permanently removed. Delete unused alert channels: Go to Alert Channels, find channels that aren’t in use, and delete them. Make sure no active monitors are bound to the channel before deleting. Remove team members: Owners can remove members from Settings → Team. Removing a member frees up a seat immediately. See Inviting team members for details.

Upgrading for more capacity

If you regularly approach your limits, upgrading your plan is the most straightforward solution.

2

Click Upgrade on the Pro plan card, or click Manage billing if you’re already subscribed and want to change plans.
3

Confirm in Stripe
